The Axe of Love and Kindness Foundation was born from our son, Axell's, extraordinary journey.
Before December 2024, Axell was a healthy, adventurous little boy who loved playing outside, exploring, and spending weekends at the motocross track with his parents. Then, at just 22 months old, what we thought was a simple illness became every parent's worst nightmare. Axell was diagnosed with viral-induced heart failure and was rushed to the Cardiac ICU at Texas Children's Hospital.
Over the next six months, our family walked through an unimaginable season. Axell underwent two open-heart surgeries, suffered a seizure, battled sepsis, and spent four months living with a Berlin Heart while his tiny heart rested and fought to heal. He endured countless scans, blood draws, procedures, and painful dressing changes—more than any child should ever have to face.
During those months, we experienced fear, uncertainty, job loss, exhaustion, heartbreak, and moments when the future felt impossible to imagine. But we also experienced something that changed us forever: the overwhelming kindness of others. Friends, family, complete strangers, hospital staff, and supporters surrounded us with prayers, encouragement, meals, financial support, and acts of generosity that carried us when we couldn't stand on our own.
Most importantly, we experienced God's faithfulness.
Our faith in Jesus became our anchor, carrying our family through moments when we had no strength left of our own. Even when we couldn't see the path ahead, God never left our side.
Then came the miracle we had been praying for.
After four months on the Berlin Heart, Axell's own heart had recovered enough that he no longer needed mechanical support. His surgeons were able to remove the heart pump, and against incredible odds, his heart continued beating strong on its own. Today, Axell is home laughing, playing, and living life as a little boy should. He continues to take oral medications and will always have follow-up care, but every day with him is a reminder of God's faithfulness, the resilience of the human heart, and the power of hope.
Living beside our son's hospital bed opened our eyes to the unseen struggles families face every single day. We learned what it feels like to leave home with nothing but the clothes you're wearing, praying your child makes it through the night. We discovered that the smallest acts of kindness—a warm blanket, a meal, toiletries, a toy, a handwritten note, or simply knowing someone cares—can make an unbearable day just a little easier.
That is why we created the Axe of Love and Kindness Foundation.
We never want another family to feel alone during one of the hardest seasons of their lives. Everything we provide is inspired by something we experienced ourselves and is given with the hope that it brings comfort, encouragement, practical support, and a reminder that they are seen, loved, and never forgotten.
Today, Axell's story is the heartbeat of our foundation. His courage, strength, and joyful spirit remind us that even in life's darkest moments, hope can rise, healing is possible, and love and kindness have the power to change lives. It is our privilege to honor his journey by serving other families walking through medical crises—one act of love and kindness at a time.

We know what it feels like to spend months living inside a hospital room.
We also know what it feels like to receive life changing kindness from complete strangers.
Axe of Love and Kindness exists because we believe no family should face that journey alone.

To help ensure the safety and well-being of the children and families we serve, we are only able to accept new, unused items. Because many of our donations are delivered directly to hospitals and families with medically fragile children, we cannot accept used or previously opened items.
The easiest and most impactful way to support our mission is through our Amazon Wish Lists and seasonal donation drives. These programs allow us to provide exactly what families need while ensuring every item meets hospital guidelines and is ready to bring comfort to a child or caregiver.
Thank you for helping us share love, kindness, and hope—one family at a time.
